Turn your passion for sports into leadership skills you can use anywhere. Through adventure challenges, team competitions, leadership exercises, and sports-industry projects, you will develop confidence, resilience, communication, teamwork, and an understanding of how the global sports business works.

Program overview

This is a dynamic introduction to sports leadership and the business behind the games you love. You will build trust and team identity, explore your own leadership style, develop resilience under pressure, and learn how sports organizations operate.

The experience moves from personal leadership and team challenges in Week 1 to the global sports industry, organizational structures, and decision-making in Week 2.

Week 1 — Sports Leadership Fundamentals

Discover your leadership potential through sport and challenge yourself in situations that require teamwork, communication, discipline, and resilience.

Ignite the Fire:

Adventure challenge games, team identity quest, sports leadership circle, and impact wall.

Athlete Mindset:

Leadership scanner, Captain’s Challenge, resilience stories, personal motto, and symbol.

Peak Performance:

Mental toughness drills, team relays, pressure cooker challenge, and reflection huddle.

Event Hackathon:

Mini tournament design, budget and resources challenge, and Coach for a Day.

Leadership in Action:

Captain’s speech, sports presentation, final tournament, and closing ceremony.

Week 2 — Organizational Structure of Sports Entities

Go behind the scenes of the global sports industry. You will explore leagues, federations, media, sponsors, grassroots organizations, and professional sports, then use what you learn to build your own mock sports club.

The Sports Industry Map:

Identify key stakeholders across the sports ecosystem.

Building the Org Chart:

Compare governance models and design your mock club’s organizational structure.

Who Decides What:

Take on leadership roles in decision simulations involving budgets, sponsorship conflicts, and PR crises.

Build Day:

Finalize your club’s structure, roles, finance, marketing, and sponsorship layers.

Pitch Day:

Present your mock sports club, leadership roles, and a strategic decision for its first year.

Outdoor Learning

Selected sessions and field trips are delivered outdoors, including lakeside settings, light hiking trails, and beach-based sessions in Marbella. Outdoor learning combines structured activities with games and time in nature. Specific days and locations will be confirmed closer to delivery. All outdoor sessions and field trips remain instructor-led and supervised.

You’ll be provided with a full timetable of activities upon arrival.

Assessment & credits

Each week is independently credit-bearing. Week 1 is assessed through Final Tournament Performance and Captain’s Speech. Week 2 is assessed through the Mock Sports Club Design & Pitch. Each course carries 1 US Credit / 2 ECTS, for a total of 2 US Credits / 4 ECTS when both weeks are completed.

Two-week campus experience

Take both weeks to move from developing your own leadership style to understanding how sports organizations are built and led. Week 2 may be delivered at a different Les Roches campus without changing the course content, learning outcomes, or credit value.

Entry requirements

Our Summer Camps are open to students aged 15–17. To participate, students must hold a valid passport for the entire duration of the program and have valid health insurance coverage for their full stay, including coverage applicable to the country where the program takes place. Students are responsible for meeting any entry or visa requirements applicable to their nationality and destination.

For the LR Hospitality Leadership Camp and LR Youth Sports Leadership Camp, if English is not your first language, or if you have not spent the last two years studying at a school where English is the primary language of instruction, you must provide a copy of one of the following English language qualifications:

TOEFL: 70 (internet-based)
IELTS: Average 5.5, with a minimum of 5.0 in each component
Cambridge: FCE Grade C or CAE minimum 160 points
Duolingo: Score of 110, with no component under 100–105

For the LR Youth Hospitality English Camp: Outdoor Learning, students should have an English level below the 5.5 IELTS entry requirement for Les Roches programs. Students will take the Les Roches entry test at the end of their program to assess their English level and progression toward the required entry standard
