Take your English beyond the classroom and into the world of hospitality. Through interactive activities, practical F&B experiences, role-play, outdoor learning, and time on campus, you will build confidence using English in everyday and hospitality situations. The program is designed for students ages 15–17 who are below the 5.5 IELTS entry requirement for Les Roches programs.

Program overview

This immersive English pathway combines language development with the energy of a Les Roches summer experience. You will practice everyday and hospitality-specific English through icebreakers, hospitality role-play, storytelling, F&B workshops, teamwork, and outdoor activities.

Learning is activity-based and practical. Instead of spending the week only in a classroom, you will use English in situations inspired by hospitality and student life, while building confidence at your own pace.

What you'll experience

Practice English through hospitality and everyday situations, including greetings, ordering, and guest interaction.

Build hospitality-specific vocabulary through practical F&B activities.

Take part in restaurant role-play, menu design, kitchen English challenges, storytelling, and presentation activities.

Join selected low-verbal, hands-on activities with students from the Hospitality and Sports pathways

Develop confidence through teamwork, creative challenges, and reflection activities.

Experience outdoor sessions and field trips in settings such as lakesides, light hiking trails in Crans Montana or beaches in Marbella.

Weekly 1 - Hospitality English Foundations

Start building your confidence in English while discovering hospitality from the inside. The week combines English-focused sessions with selected practical experiences shared with the other summer pathways.

Ignite the Fire

Icebreakers in English ("Two Truths & a Lie - Hospitality Edition"); Team Identity Quest; Field Trip Inspiration Walk; Impact Wall; + 2h English

Hospitality English & F&B Basics:

Restaurant role-play, menu design in English, kitchen English challenges, and a shared F&B practical workshop.

English in Action:

Welcome challenges, storytelling, and social-media English.

Crossover Day:

A mini sports challenge, creative brainstorming, and team reflection.

English in the Spotlight:

Role-play, team presentation, and a closing reflection.

Week 2 - Advanced Hospitality English & Service Immersion

If you stay for a second week, take your hospitality English further through service-focused activities and practical immersion. You will expand your vocabulary, practice guest interaction, support event preparation, and take part in an English-speaking support role around a live hospitality showcase.

Concept Vocabulary:

Planning and menu language.

Kitchen & Service

Deep-Dive: practical rotation and English pre-teach/debrief.

Guest Experience English:

Guest-interaction basics at your own English pace.

Build Day:

Support roles in event setup and rehearsal.

Live Service Support & Showcase:

English-speaking front-of-house support and your own English debrief.

Outdoor Learning

Selected sessions and field trips take learning outdoors, including lakeside settings, light hiking trails, and beach-based sessions in Marbella. Outdoor delivery combines structured learning with games and time in nature. Specific days and locations will be confirmed closer to delivery. Outdoor sessions are instructor-led and supervised throughout

English assessment

You will take the Les Roches entry test once, at the end of your program. Students attending one week take the test at the end of Week 1; students attending two weeks take it at the end of Week 2. Passing confirms that you meet the Les Roches entry-level English requirement of 5.5 IELTS or LR-equivalent.

This is a non-credit English pathway. Its purpose is English proficiency progression toward the Les Roches entry requirement. Shared activities with the Hospitality and Sports pathways are limited to hands-on sessions where verbal output is low; speaking-heavy activities remain within the English pathway.

Entry requirements

Our Summer Camps are open to students aged 15–17. To participate, students must hold a valid passport for the entire duration of the program and have valid health insurance coverage for their full stay, including coverage applicable to the country where the program takes place. Students are responsible for meeting any entry or visa requirements applicable to their nationality and destination.

For the LR Hospitality Leadership Camp and LR Youth Sports Leadership Camp, if English is not your first language, or if you have not spent the last two years studying at a school where English is the primary language of instruction, you must provide a copy of one of the following English language qualifications:

TOEFL: 70 (internet-based)
IELTS: Average 5.5, with a minimum of 5.0 in each component
Cambridge: FCE Grade C or CAE minimum 160 points
Duolingo: Score of 110, with no component under 100–105

For the LR Youth Hospitality English Camp: Outdoor Learning, students should have an English level below the 5.5 IELTS entry requirement for Les Roches programs. Students will take the Les Roches entry test at the end of their program to assess their English level and progression toward the required entry standard
