The Bachelor route to sports business
Where sports careers begin
Students in the Bachelor of Science in Sports Business Management step into the sports industry while they study. Through internships and industry placements, they gain hands-on experience with organizations across the global sports ecosystem.
From supporting marketing and events at sports venues, to working with federations, clubs and international hospitality groups offering sports and recreation experiences, these placements allow students to turn classroom knowledge into practical skills.
Internship opportunities
Below are examples of organizations and roles where our bachelor students have recently completed internships, offering a glimpse into the diverse career pathways available within the sports industry.
These experiences represent an important first step for students as they begin building their careers in the global sports industry.
Industry partners in the sports sector
Collaboration with industry partners allows students in the Bachelor in Sports Business Management to gain exposure to real sports environments and professional networks.
Among our key partners are Celebreak and The Embassy, two organizations that bring unique perspectives from different areas of the sports industry. These partnerships contribute to enriching the learning experience and connecting students with the wider sports ecosystem.
The Embassy
The Embassy is a high-performance basketball training facility in the Costa del Sol designed for elite athletes and professional teams. With NBA/FIBA-standard courts, advanced scouting technology and specialized rehabilitation and performance facilities, it provides an environment focused on professional training and athlete development. Beyond training, The Embassy provides a complete ecosystem that includes technical coaching, recovery services, accommodation options, and the organization of international sporting events and corporate experiences.
Learning through real events
Active participation in international sporting events allows students to experience the operational side of sports management first-hand.
Students recently contributed to the IRONMAN World Championship, spending several days working alongside event organizers and supporting the coordination of one of the world’s most prestigious endurance competitions. This immersive experience provided valuable insight into event logistics, operations and international standards of event management.
Students also participated in the AVANCE Global Cup, an international basketball tournament sanctioned by the NBA. During the event, students took on the role of team managers, supporting tournament coordination and team operations within a professional competition environment.
Field trips and industry visits
Field trips form an important part of the Bachelor of Science in Sports Business Management learning experience, giving students direct exposure to the environments where sport is managed, organized and delivered.
Through visits to professional clubs, elite training centers and major sports facilities, students explore different areas of the sports ecosystem: from facilities management and athlete development to event operations and venue management.
Recent field trips have included visits to leading sports venues such as:
- Sevilla FC Stadium
- Real Betis Balompié Training Facilities
- Marbella Football Center
- Rafa Nadal Academy
- The Embassy Training Center
- Finca Cortesin Golf
- Angel Nieto International Circuit
- Ayala Polo Club.
These experiences allow students to better understand how sports organizations operate behind the scenes across multiple disciplines including football, basketball, tennis, golf, motorsport and polo.
