Executive summary

Core principles

  • Integrity & honesty: students are expected to act truthfully and ethically in all academic, professional and community interactions, including assessments and official documentation.
  • Respect & inclusion: commitment to mutual respect, dignity and inclusivity across cultures, identities and opinions, both on and off campus. Discrimination, harassment or bullying are not tolerated.
  • Professionalism: students must demonstrate behaviour aligned with hospitality industry standards, acting as ambassadors of Les Roches in academic, residential, professional and public settings.
  • Responsibility & accountability: individuals are accountable for their actions and decisions, including awareness of policies, local laws and the impact of their behaviour on the wider community.
  • Safety & wellbeing: upholding a safe learning and living environment, prioritising physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing of all community members.

Expected student conduct

  • Academic conduct: compliance with academic integrity standards, including original work, proper referencing and avoidance of plagiarism, cheating, collusion or falsification.
  • Behavioural standards: demonstration of respectful, non‑violent and cooperative behaviour towards peers, faculty, staff, visitors and external partners.
  • Compliance with policies & law: adherence to institutional policies, campus regulations, health and safety rules and applicable local laws at all times.
  • Use of facilities & resources: responsible use of campus property, IT systems, residences and learning resources; avoidance of damage, misuse or unauthorised access.
  • Off‑campus & online behaviour: conduct outside campus, including online and on social media platforms, must not damage the reputation, safety or values of Les Roches.

Consequences of non-compliance

  • Graduated disciplinary approach: sanctions are proportionate to severity, intent and recurrence of misconduct, ensuring fairness and due process.
  • Possible sanctions include: • Verbal or written warnings • Behavioural or academic remediation measures • Disciplinary probation • Financial penalties or restitution for damages • Suspension (temporary removal from studies or campus)
  • Expulsion for severe or repeated breaches ◦ Academic consequences: academic misconduct may result in failed assessments, course failure or programme termination, independent of other sanctions. ◦ Immediate measures: in serious cases, interim measures may be imposed to protect individuals or the community while investigation is in progress. ◦ No exemption: ignorance of the Code does not exempt students from disciplinary action; compliance is a condition of enrolment.

Additional requirements

Accommodation policy on campus and at internship location

  • Smoking: smoking is not permitted within the rooms and accommodation establishments. Disrespecting this rule may result in sanctions and dismissal.
  • Housekeeping: housekeeping is generally once per week with change of linen and towels (on campus). This may vary or not be applicable on internship location depending on the provider.
  • Room cleanliness: students must always keep their room and bathroom in order and clean. Disrespecting this rule may result in sanctions.
  • Room: double standard rooms with shared bathrooms. Room allocations may change during the progression of the course depending on booking periods and the campus executive operations. Should participants be asked to reallocate from their room, they will need to follow instructions within the assigned date by the campus.
  • Storage: participants are NOT allowed to leave personal items in the common areas.

Luggage

  • Allowance: participants are NOT allowed to travel with more than two pieces of luggage either to/from campus or to/from internship location.

Surveillance

  • Security: the campus is always under surveillance. Footage can be required in case of reported suspected activities.

Class timing & attendance

  1. Mandatory attendance at scheduled academic activities • Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, practical sessions, assessments, examinations and academic activities as defined by their programme • Failure to attend scheduled academic commitments without valid authorization is treated as a breach of student conduct rather than a purely academic issue
  2. Punctuality requirements • Students are required to be on time for classes and academic activities • Late arrival may be recorded and can be considered misconduct, particularly if recurrent or disruptive to learning
  3. Unauthorized absence • Absences without prior approval or valid justification are considered non‑compliance with institutional expectations • Repeated unauthorized absences may trigger disciplinary action, not only academic penalties
  4. Disruption of classes • Arriving late, leaving early or otherwise interrupting sessions in a way that disrupts teaching or other students is considered inappropriate conduct • Such behavior falls under the broader obligation to maintain a respectful learning environment
  5. Progressive disciplinary consequences • Breaches related to attendance and punctuality may result in: ◦ Warnings ◦ Formal disciplinary procedures ◦ Escalation to the Disciplinary Commission for repeated or serious cases • Sanctions are applied in line with the severity and frequency of the behavior
  6. Complementarity with academic regulations • The Code of Conduct operates alongside academic regulations (programme handbooks, attendance policies, assessment rules) • Where attendance or timing rules are defined academically, failure to comply may still constitute misconduct under the Code of conduct

Obtaining and maintaining this signed consent is the sole responsibility of the Sponsor. No information shall be disclosed in the absence of such authorisation.
