Intensive Hospitality English Language Program

Our six-week IHELP course in Crans-Montana offers intensive English language study, while also teaching important hospitality industry communication skills and knowledge. If your English is not quite at the level needed to meet the entry requirements of your chosen academic program, then IHELP can get you there. Some students who already meet the entry requirements will opt for IHELP as an ideal way to build their confidence in using English before starting their program. And for others it provides an early opportunity to settle into life in Switzerland. Our experienced teachers tailor the course to individual student needs, with a focus on building English grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, writing and study skills.

IHELP 6 for Bachelor candidates

DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE MIN. IELTS 5.0 OVERALL (MIN. 4.5 IN EVERY SUBCOMPONENT) ON APPLICATION Bachelor applicants in the IHELP 6 must achieve a minimum test score equivalent to a high B2 level on the Common European Framework of Reference to progress onto the 4 year Bachelor’s program at Les Roches in Switzerland or Spain. This test takes place on site at the beginning and end of the IHELP 6.

IHELP 6 for Postgraduate candidates

DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE MIN. IELTS 5.5 OVERALL (MIN. 5 IN EVERY SUBCOMPONENT) ON APPLICATION Postgraduate applicants to IHELP 6 must achieve a minimum test score equivalent to a high B2/C1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference, in order to progress onto the graduate programs offered by Les Roches in Switzerland and Spain. This test takes place on site at the beginning and end of the IHELP 6.

On successful completion of the IHELP 6 program, students should be able to:

  • Master English at a sufficient level and in accordance with the relevant admissions requirements to be able to study on the Bachelor’s, MSc's or Advanced Studies programs successfully.
  • Communicate appropriately, using both written and spoken English in hospitality and academic contexts to a professional standard

Program entry requirements

IHELP 6 for Bachelor's candidates

Must be 17 years old or above.

English level: IELTS 5.0 overall (min. 4.5 in every subcomponent) on application.

IHELP 6 for Postgraduate candidates

Must be 23 years old for MBA program

21 years old or above for all other programs.

All IHELP 6 candidates

Equivalent English certificates such as Cambridge and TOEFL are accepted on application and all English certificates must have been issued in the 24 months prior to admission.

Must hold a valid passport. Nationals of any country can apply and follow the required process for obtaining a visa.

Provide a copy of your IELTS English language level certificate or equivalent.

Arrange payment of the program fees.

*Fees are subject to change without notice and are stated in Swiss Francs (CHF). For more information about our terms and conditions, please refer to tuition fees document on our website. Please note: in case of cancellation, we will refund the total amount of the program if the cancellation is made 14 days or more prior to the start of the program in writing to the Admissions Department. 50% of the full amount will be refunded if cancellation occurs up to 14 days before the start of the program. No refund will apply if the student does not attend or start on the first day of the course without canceling beforehand. ** Bachelor students can live in a standard double room, or in a single room at an extra cost of CHF 700.-. Postgraduate students live in single rooms.

Program fees do not include

  • Pocket money, laundry costs, visa fees, airport transfers in home country and flights.
  • Exam fees for the Academic English test at the beginning and end of the IHELP 6
