Intensive Hospitality English Language Program

Our fifteen-week IHELP course in Spain offers intensive English language study, while also teaching important hospitality industry communication skills and knowledge.

If your English is not quite at the level needed to meet the entry requirements of your chosen academic program, then IHELP can get you there. Some students who already meet the entry requirements will opt for IHELP as an ideal way to build their confidence in using English before starting their program. And for others it provides an early opportunity to settle into life in Spain.

Our experienced teachers tailor the course to individual student needs, with a focus on building English grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading, writing and study skills.

You will be immersed in an English-speaking environment on our campus, interacting in English with fellow students and faculty in many social and academic situations.

How it works

IHELP 15 for Bachelor candidates

DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE MIN. IELTS 4.5 OVERALL ON APPLICATION Bachelor applicants in the IHELP 15 must achieve a minimum test score equivalent to a high B2 level on the Common European Framework of Reference to progress onto the 4 year Bachelor’s program at Les Roches in Spain. This test takes place on site at the beginning and end of the IHELP 15.

IHELP 15 for postgraduate candidates

DESIGNED FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE MIN. IELTS 5.0 OVERALL ON APPLICATION Postgraduate applicants to IHELP 15 must achieve a minimum test score equivalent to a high B2/C1 level on the Common European Framework of Reference, in order to progress onto the graduate programs offered by Les Roches in Spain. This test takes place on site at the beginning and end of the IHELP 15.

Program learning outcomes

On successful completion of the IHELP 15 program, students should be able to:

  • Master English at a sufficient level and in accordance with the relevant admissions requirements to be able to study on the Bachelor’s, MSc's or Advanced Studies programs successfully.
  • Communicate appropriately, using both written and spoken English in hospitality and academic contexts to a professional standard.
  • Apply a range of study skills, strategies and techniques to enable them to perform to their full academic and professional potential.

Program entry requirements

IHELP 15 for Bachelor's candidates

Must be 17 years old or above.

English level: IELTS 4.5 overall on application.

IHELP 15 for Postgraduate candidates

Must be 21 years old or above for all programs

All IHELP 15 candidates

Equivalent English certificates such as Cambridge and TOEFL are accepted on application and all English certificates must have been issued in the 24 months prior to admission.

Must hold a valid passport. Nationals of any country can apply and follow the required process for obtaining a visa.

Please note: in case of cancellation, we will refund the total amount of the program if the cancellation is made 14 days or more prior to the start of the program in writing to the Admissions Department.

50% of the full amount will be refunded if cancellation occurs up to 14 days before the start of the program. No refund will apply if the student does not attend or start on the first day of the course without canceling beforehand.

Program fees include

  • Please note that all items below are included in the program fees as stipulated. If some items are not used, then no reduction of fees will be applied.
  • Tuition fees, practical arts apparel, kitchen toolkit, learning resources, uniforms and materials, health & accident Insurance, half board for postgraduate students, full board for bachelor students, and minimum lodging cost in double room.

Program fees do not include

  • Pocket money, laundry costs, visa fees, airport transfers in home country and flights.
  • Exam fees for the Academic English test at the beginning and end of the IHELP 15

Accommodation upgrade

Subject to availability, students can select a single room for an additional fee. The prices below are in Euros, per person, for the duration of the 15-week program, and in addition to the double room fee:
