This Advanced Studies program delivers the specialist skills that will pave your way to a career in golf management. You will learn how golf courses are designed, laid and maintained, while exploring the intricacies of golf club operations.

The curriculum also looks in depth at the staging and marketing of golf tournaments, with your field trip visiting the home of one of the top professional tournaments in the world: The Players Championship. In addition, from your base in Marbella you will enjoy easy access to numerous quality golf courses.

Our specialized diploma programs immerse you in your topic, and nowhere more so than during your business field trip. For the Diploma in Golf Management you will travel to Miami, USA, exposing you to perhaps the most geographically concentrated collection of golf courses in the world. In Miami alone there are 14 courses, while Florida is also home to one of the most prestigious tournaments on the PGA Tour calendar, The Players Championship.

Eugenio Rezola

Teaches Agronomy & Machinery and Golf Course Design

  • LRM alumni with an MBA from IE University and a background in Agriculture Technical Engineering
  • Completed a two-year turf grass management program in the USA
  • Head Greenkeeper at Golf Course Las Américas in Tenerife, Spain
  • Responsible for maintenance, renovations, and environmental management of the golf course
  • Led a complete renovation of the 18-hole greens and hosted the European Tour Ladies Tour Match Play in 2011

Fernando Padrón

Teaches Golf Business Management ​

  • Currently General Manager of La Hacienda Golf Resort, Sotogrande – San Roque.
  • A Certified Club Manager (CCM) by the Club Manager Association of America (CMAA), USA.
  • Also holds a Master’s in Golf Management and an MBA.
  • Fernando has worked in the golf industry since 2010, in his native Spain as well as in Mexico.
  • In his current role at La Hacienda Golf Resort he is responsible for financial management, marketing and commercial activities, while also spearheading a strategic plan and rebranding strategy.
  • In previous leadership roles he organized professional tournaments for both the DP World Tour and the PGA of America.

Program entry requirements

Minimum age

21

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree desirable

Professional hospitality experience

Two years for students with a Bachelor's degree or five years for students without degree

English level

Must be proficient enough for higher education studies. English language exam scores (issued within 24 months prior to the intended intake) are required for non-native speakers, or those who have not spent at least 2 years in full time English Education at University level prior to the intake.
